Letterhead of Law Offices of Howard W. Hayes,
Prudential Building,
765 Broad St.,
Newark, N. J.
May 22, 1902.
Thomas A. Edison, Esq.,
Orange, N. J.
Dear Sir:-
I have had another conference with Mr. Twombly and he has concluded not to go any further of the Edison United Phonograph Company. Evidently Moriarity was trying to get some more money out of him. I explained to him very shortly the condition of the Company and also what its conduct had been in relation to your matters. He did not seem to want to go into the matter to any great extent, nor did he care to have me talk it over with Mr. Whitridge. He seemed satisfied, however, with my explanation as to the circumstances. I return papers you received from Whitridge.
Yours very truly,
Howard W. Hayes
