- Recd NY Tribune -- phono creating great interest all over -- one TAE sent don't work well -- wants new one -- Amer Dist Tel Co of Washington has a curse on it from former bad administration very uphill to set right -- why doesn't WU put out TAE phone instead of Phelps -- can he get in on phono in Washington -- wants TAE to tell him all his ideas perfect and imperfect as they have great interest for him -- "I hope you are taking care of yourself and giving your little family the benefit of your society in the evenings instead of moping round hte lab & racking your brain night & day= remember what I tell you it is your first duty & I will always remind you of it whether you like it or not" -- P.S. tell Batch papers recd -- "kind regards to Mrs. E and does she still like me or has forgotten all about me our friend Wilber calls in very often and always has a talk with me about you he is evidently your staunch friend and also Prescotts (in my eye) who is going to be Prest WUT"
