- Editor's Notes
- so busy with lecture not had time to write and thank TAE for things sent which he found upon arrival home after being at Menlo; lecture went off well was disappointed that others did not send things, for example Brush; "As to your new light, I did not at all expect you to let me have it under the circumstances. My telegram to you was at the suggestion of the manager. I did not care to postpone." Farmer sent clip to Barker and Barker thought to TAE re Farmer's discussion of electric lighting with platinum burners at his home in 1859; was TAE aware of Farmer's self-acting rheostat which while not as good as TAE's would be useful in some circumstances; hopes light is ready by Dec. 5 when Draper will have a scientific soiree; would like to make and use one of TAE's telephones
