Title
[D7819ZCJ], Letter from George Frederick Barker to Thomas Alva Edison, November 22nd, 1878
Editor's Notes
so busy with lecture not had time to write and thank TAE for things sent which he found upon arrival home after being at Menlo; lecture went off well was disappointed that others did not send things, for example Brush; "As to your new light, I did not at all expect you to let me have it under the circumstances. My telegram to you was at the suggestion of the manager. I did not care to postpone." Farmer sent clip to Barker and Barker thought to TAE re Farmer's discussion of electric lighting with platinum burners at his home in 1859; was TAE aware of Farmer's self-acting rheostat which while not as good as TAE's would be useful in some circumstances; hopes light is ready by Dec. 5 when Draper will have a scientific soiree; would like to make and use one of TAE's telephones
