- has instructed Phelps and Barton to have the "Edison Carbon Telephone" conspicuously placed on each instrument made as agreed to in contract with WU; WU anxious telephones should bear name as well "The success of them is everywhere extremely gratifying." Executive Comm. declined to allow Johnson free use of telephones for exhibitions but Walker will bring to their attention TAE's support for EHJ to exhibit; WU making exhibitions of it with great success at American Institute, also Mechanics' Fair in Boston and Baltimore
