Title
[D7840ZAC], Letter from Joshua Franklin Bailey to Thomas Alva Edison, June 8th, 1878
Editor's Notes
After interview with Gouraud Bailey sent cable asking if TAE committed to him or free to negotiate personally -- G showed B cable from TAE to G saying take charge telephone England -- B not sure of extent of TAE's authorization from that cable -- TAE responded Gouraud has full powers -- will talk with G next week on combination and if it seems feasible to fix a price for TAE patents will do this if figure not too high -- TAE should bear in mind that there will be extensive litigation over patents -- situation much muddled and no one is going to pay large price for any of the patents -- upon receipt TAE should cable G or B his lowest selling price
