Editor's Notes: Heard today from Smith that he has TAE telephone in operation across the Isthmus from Panama to Aspinwall and a set working for PMSSCo in Panama -- delayed in Panama by trouble with govt over poles -- hopes to head south in July -- found Phelps phone in use to a small extent -- in experiments found Phelps receiver in combination with TAE trans gave better result than TAE set -- one of TAE's receivers partially demagnetized -- wants six sets on credit to return if not used
