- Thode & Knoop say nothing further decided about German phono & teleph patent, and matter is still pending. "let me know if your new receiver is secured...in France and Germany, the two countries where inventions are most in danger on account of previous publications of details; otherwise I fear that the long article in the London Times of 17th inst may do us harm." Encloses copy of transfer of 1/2 his interest in telephone contract to TAE [follows on film]. Marg: "The principle of the new Re is secured old pats. The new [???] not secured as there was no money in Serrell's hand & I have never recd any ans to 2 letters written you about it. The orig pat will hold it."
