- re telephone combination. TAE's pats in US sold to WU. If TAE had control of pats the Bell Co would not exist; they can't use telephone in cities without pirating carbon trans. Consolidation of interests was best. English Bell Co playing same game. But we don't use Bell receiver, so aren't in position of pirates or amenable to compromise.
