"Sun" reporter visited lab 3-4 times after lamp successful; wonders if few drops of mercury at bottom of bulb diffuse heat & prevent breakage? Marg: "The mercury would cross the wires & the currend wouldnt pass through horseshoe. Besides mercury would volatilize in such high vacuum when heated by accumulation [illeg]....."
