Title

[D8020ZAJ], Letter from H C Lippincott to Thomas Alva Edison, January 20th, 1880

Editor's Notes

Pittsburgh glass broker offers help in preventing breakage due to expansion of wire. Marg: "Our sole trouble is that there is tensions in the glass & the wires [----ing] through the glass quickly heat one part of the glass before the other & a crack as consequence(?). We use a potash glass also a soft German glass much used by makers of fine chemical glassware. If we could get a clear glass that would conduct the heat quickly so that tensions would be equalized rapidly that would probably cure our troubles."
