Suggestion: could filament be supplied by capillary action with a quantity of some hydrocarbon from a small fount attached to lamp? May be able to avoid Maxim claims. Marg: "It is a want of knowledge on the part of Maxim that makes him use carbon from the decomposition of a hydrocarbon."
