- [D8023ZBO], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to N.Y. City. Board of Aldermen, John J Morris, December 15th, 1880
- Editor's Notes
- Draft in Goddard's hand of TAE letter to Pres of NY Board of Aldermen. Understand you expressed unwillingness to vote to approve putting in wires until Co made satisfactory demo in NYC according to resolution passed 2 yrs ago. Explains importance of working in MP rather than NY; physical & financial impossibility of experimenting in the City. Has been satisfactorily demonstrated at MP. Before investing huge sums in NY, Co desires something more permanent than a revocable permit. Would be pleased to confer personally and show the lights in MP.
