- Draft affidavit. Wm Preece visited my lab in the month of (Batch get date); I showed him & fully explained carbon telephone. Complained to him about ill treatment by BPO. Preece said I fell in with the wrong people there but "I will see that everything is made right." He then requested telephone be put in his hands for England. While my messenger was testing carbon telephon in London, Preece brought out Hughes's "alleged invention" and sought to patent it by combining with magneto telephone. [sections in TAE's hand.]
