- Old scheme for provincial telephone cos revived, and a syndicate formed to cover principal cities. Have personal interest and will probably be involved in management. Revival of distric plan due to "revolution in feeling" in favor of Americans to do telephone work. The provincial and United Cos. will use the same equipment; desire to use Pond indicator. Have agreed to pay handsome royalty for it; please perfect it and send it over with a man, maybe MacKenzie? Could use EHJ in telephone biz now; may be necessary to send Rose back over.
