Abstract

[Marg reply on above inquiry about first steamship with ELight.] Columbia was 1st. "Since that time we have perfected our system of lighting steamboats. To give you a rough idea as to cost I will state that the cost of plant will be about $2800. This is the actual cost; a yearly royalty will be required by our company which will be based on the saving to the steamship Co between the electric system of lighting and lighting by gas. We guarantee satisfaction. PS Would be pleased to have you or your friends come to Menlo Park on Wednesday or Thursday night of any week. We have 8 miles of lights burning & many houses."
