- Title
- [D8104ZBH], Letter from Benjamin Franklin Butler to Thomas Alva Edison, May 14th, 1881
- Editor's Notes
- Note on hotel head; introduces a [?Cecil?] Adelbert Ames, who with Butler is interested in an electric signal on the elevated railway on the 42d street branch. States that it should not interfere with any Edison patents, but if it does they would like to know. Asks TAE to inspect it and tell him if it has "any elements of usefulness." Unsure if this signal is Butler's or not from tone of letter, but "interest" implies that they (he and Ames) devised it.
