- Title
- [D8106G], Letter from Alfred Knox to Thomas Alva Edison, June 12th, 1881
- Editor's Notes
- Describes operation of phonograph imported by Knox into Natal; asks if apparent qualities (vocal shortcomings) may be the result of climate or natural. Requests information both about the "standard" machine and about prices and illustrations "as I am deeply interested in the success of them especially the Phonograph as I have not got good eyesight & am unable to read at night." Followed by shorthand; I cannot read it but it seems to dictate the reply
