- Editor's Notes
- Gives details of test at Baldwin Locomotive Works; says Edison lamps performed well under unfavorable circumstances, but they work better illuminating smaller areas; but 11 lamps burned out b/c "they ran it up very high" to get illumination equivalent to arc lighting. Encloses clipping from Phila Inquirer about test. Article says that Moore claims that Edison system can power 100 lamps for 5 hours a day for 300 days at a total equipment and operating cost of $6500, about half the cost of gas lighting. Letter of transmittal from Insull to Moore covering Burk's letter and newspaper clipping is doc. D8120ZBE. Edison's reply is doc. D8120ZBG. Consider for inclusion.
