Title
[D8123ZDP], Letter from Francis Robbins Upton to Thomas Alva Edison, August 26th, 1881
Editor's Notes
Pulsating device on pump does not work. Haid's analysis shows that the black powder is mercury sulfide with traces of copper, iron, and lead. Wants now to focus on experiments to improve reliability of the pumps. Gives details of the work several employees are performing and their progress. Consider for inclusion: gives view of organization and work in lab. (DH)
