- Batchelor says he persuaded Lowrey to stay on longer. "It would almost bust the business" if he left. Also had "a long talk" with Mr. Philliport(?) about lighting railways in England; would take 1.6M lamps; Batchelor told him that they can be supplied cheap in quantity and could turn out 10K a day if he wants. Wants TAE to "personally thank Freeman if he calls on you as he has worked indefagitably to show off our things to the best possible advantage and at all times, also another American commissioner Lieut Maclean if he calls on you." "PS. Our applications are mounting up tremendously, after we are settled we shall be able to lots of business."
