Title
[D8133ZAS], Letter from Theodore Waterhouse to Edward Hibberd Johnson, November 12th, 1881
Editor's Notes
Report on TAE's UK lamp patents. Waterhouse is a solicitor. Report is by Bidwell, who is a barrister and member of Society of Telegraph Engineers, and was juror at Paris Exhibition. Bidwell's opinion is that TAE's patent of 10nov1879 gives him monopoly of the incandescent lamp, provided: 91) no prior publication by Swan or anyone else; (2) that Swan's patent of 2jan1880 doesn't prevent TAE from exhausting air from his lamp while carbon is incandescent.
