Title
[D8135W], Letter from Otto A Moses to Thomas Alva Edison, July 12th, 1881
Editor's Notes
Gives summary of conversations with Armengaud and DuMoncel referred to in last letter. Bailey introduced him to Armengaud to give him insight into TAE's system. It seems as if Armengaud is involved in obtaining French patents for TAE; praised TAE's thoroughness and caution wrt patents. He is an attorney for several electric light companies and has dealings with telephone; also he is very busy and has a staff that also seems overworked. "Altogether he is agreeable, polite, and he makes an honorable impression, still Mr. Bailey speaks of employing counsel with him." Talked with DuMoncel for a couple hours also. Told him that TAE asked Moses to translate passages from his work, then "he thawed immediately" and offered to "carry on the experimental verification" of TAE's work on conductivity of carbon. Moses has just received Maj. Eaton's letter telling of unavoidable delay in shipping the dynamo.
