- Barker and Rowland just returned fr York mtg BAAS. Barker says that Thomson read a paper "which inadvertently covered you with laurels." Paper on dynamos: "railing at the want of knowledge displayed by inventors who persis in approximating the internal resistance of armatures to the external resistance of the circuit.." Didn't mention TAE, but Rowland spoke up. "Last night an accident happened to the old rattletrap of an engine we hired." Threw a pin, plunging salon w/ 500 people attending into darkness for half hour. Thinks armature runs too close to field magnet.
