Signed agreement for TAE to build 2.5 miles of rwy track at Menlo equipped with 3 cars, 2 locos (1 freight rated 10 tons, 1 pssngr rated 60 mph). TAE expts to be supervised by Villard's engineer; if successful Villard to reimburse actual outlays & negot with EElight Co for rights to build at least 50 miles electric rwy in wheat regions. Initial costs not to exceed $2300/mile; locos & cars $800 each. [docket note that this entered as defendant's exhibit, Sept 1898].
