- [D8224ZAE], Letter from Sherburne Blake Eaton to Thomas Alva Edison, May 27th, 1882
- Editor's Notes
- "Mr. McCabe is the acting President of the South Carolina Electric Light Company," and has been here a couple weeks studying electric lights to decide on a system to adopt. Also had contacted Swan and Brush people. "I have spent a good deal of time on Mr Mc Cabe as I rather fear it will be very hard to start another electric light company in South Carolina. His company has many of the best men there, and even they seem to be timid and conservative. I should like very much to secure his company for our system, and have done my best to do so."
