- Possibiility of electric RR in Fairmount Park, Phila. McLaughlin also wants electric RR in California. Banker was here yesterday and "feels very much dejected about Ore Milling. He says people who bought stock at high figures are grumbling." Navarro rcvd cable fr Havana saying a restaurant illuminated successfully. "He spent the evening with us last night. I showed him how I have my office systematized and he expressed so much surprise that I guess he must have thought the office had no system whatever. He was especially struck with my weekly report from the Defect Book." He wants Eaton to send copy defect report each week to Havana to help them solve defects there. Bliss wants 20 light system to light saloon in Milwaukee; also "fifth first clas dwelling wired in Chicago." "Winslow, Lanier & Co want to be the first people lighted up in the down town district." The two Dickersons have been in to talk about Goebel. Iso directors levying assessment of 10 cents. "Munroe wants us to light the Equitable Life Ins. building in Boston as an advertisement" but Iso Co decided not to do so, as well as Casino at 39th/Bdway. Next Builletin will include description of safety-catch and plug, and cutout; prepared by Clarke. Harper's Weekly is thinking abt a story abt the downtown district. Ladd wires fr San Fran that he can carry out contract if given 30 day extension. Another letter from people at Lawrence wrt organizing company and blocking competitors. Encloses letter fr Dodge wrt feeders in downtown district; requires increased length b/c Pearl St. sta is not in electrical center of district. A few misc other items.
