Title
[D8238ZAL], Letter from Joshua Franklin Bailey, Theodore Puskas to Samuel Insull, March 26th, 1882
Editor's Notes
Find signed contract enclosed; also sending by same mail reports of operations of these companies. Have signed contract for formation of Co in Besanson(?), approx 100,000 inhabitants (gives terms). Now negotiating for Dijon (but of course!) Strasbourg contract not signed yet; think we can't make profit selling electricity at same price as gas so will modify terms. Contract for factory and exploitation co in Spain agreed to but not signed yet. Bailey going to Italy to close negotiations there. Expect application from Francfort sur Main. Have option for Wurtenberg. Expect to calculate percentage shares somewhat differently in German contracts than French. Bailey leaves for US end of April to discuss details of all this, also comissions to Puskas & Bailey. Therer's nothing here to compare with growth of your light business; "The Brush people hare using your lamps; Siemens has just bought 550 for Berlin, and all the indications are of the most favorable character."
