Title
[D8238ZDT], Letter from Giuseppe Colombo to Thomas Alva Edison, October 10th, 1882
Editor's Notes
Have been in Milan 1 week and made some preliminary central station arrangements. Hope to have LaScala lit by early January. Please provide the following: 1) as promised by Clarke, full account of progress at Pearl St. since I left (coupling of governor, etc.); 2) what proportions to adopt for regulator; 3) what size fan for C dynamo. As you suggested, tried to see Lubbock in London but he was away. Acheson is very useful and works hard; couldn't do it without him and want him to remain. He would like to have your order to this effect. Corresponding regularly with Patterson, who will come to in time forlaying first tubes. Send Lieb about middle of November; fix his terms yourself. While awaiting fourth dynamo from Goerck St., the Paris co sent one from Antwerp; which shall I use? Don't know if Bailey still in NY; look forward to his return to Europe.
