- Title
- [D8253ZAE], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Anson Stager, April 1882
- Editor's Notes
- [filmed as attachment---to what?? No indication that this is addressed to Stager.] One-plus page draft memorandum in TAE hand on consolidated service. "It is my opinion based on experience here that rival telephone exchanges in one city can never prove satisfactory either to their stockholders or the public. While competition may reduce the price the public must become subscribers to both exchanges to reach all." Service is better under one management since all subscribers may be connected. Followed by a different draft, different hand, to same effect.
