asks TAE to make a machine that can kill cotton worms by electricity, "As the cotton worm is doing a great deal of harm every year, and as every means to kill the same have failed," suggests a battery with copper wires which man could carry through fields, touching plants # TAE marg: "Your suggestion is practicable an induction coil throwing a spark of 1/2 inch with 2 cells of battery the whaole made potable, with two brushes of wires, would do the work I have no time to experiment"
