- canvasser in Minneapolis, leaving for Davenport: "I would much prefer that you would not send anybody too co-operate with him in his work, as he has his full instructions from me, and knows exactly what I want, and if he is interfered with and proffered advice by other people, I can hardly hold him responsible for not following my instructions." goes on explaining he has taken this all upon himself and would rather be sent information, as it is at his expense. Western Co should pay: "You seem to lose sight entirely of the fact that the Western Company would certainly gain some advantage if a central station was installed in their territory."
