Title

[D8316AOK], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to William Symes Andrews, August 17th, 1883

Editor's Notes

reply to 15th, "it is a matter which you can easily calculate as to what the drop is on the mains. If you get the pressure at the terminal of your feeders, the heaviest drop on the mains would of course occur when the whole load is on, namely, 500 lamps, and this drop would be three per cent. What you have to calculate is for a drop of say 120 lamps, which would be the most you could possibly have on with the present number you have connected, and certainly with this the drop, could not be more than one per cent."
