Title
[D8316AWA], Letter from Samuel Insull to Thomas Alva Edison, September 20th, 1883
Editor's Notes
[addressed to TAE in Shamokin] Rcd your teleg asking for chemicals, meters, scales, etc; will ship soon. Soldan started testing 300 light machine but found cross. Cowles [Ansonia] can't say when they can deliver cable; it's a new thing and they're depending entirely on the factory. Saw Chinnock trying new brushes at central station; they were heating badly but he got them to carry 600-700 lights from the district (not the test lamps). Was called on today by Fitchburgh (MA) man who runs Thomson-Houston business. He wants TAE companies in about 10 towns; think when you go to Brockton next week you can make a deal with him. Enclosing latest blue prints from Engineering Dept; they're beautiful and should cheer you on in your lonely way in Shamokin. Hope you're enjoying the bad grub there; I'm going to Delmonico's tonight and will eat a double-sized dinner.
