- Editor's Notes
- Your various letters recd, also telegram this morning. I answered that I would be in NY next week, on account of 4th (holiday) this week. # Your letter from Babcock and Wilcox people has had my attention. I have seen Mr.Wood, manager of the fair and he talks well enough, I have also seen Huston[?] of the B amd W and suspect they are trying you force the fair or ourselves to buy their boiler. I think I can arrange the matter satisfactory # That you may protect your interests all over the country I am sending you a newspaper article that will interest you. # the best friend we have anywhere is Ho. E.S. Tobey Postmaster of Boston he always says good words for you. He wrote to Secy of Treasy asking Edison light for Post OFfice. Secy of Tresury has a son who he wants to learn the buisness he asked if he could work for the Machine Works to get some practical knowledge; will only want compensation to pay his board.# I note your remarks in yours of 28th about Bancroft telling North Adams people they can put in 5,000 ten candle lamps for $30,000 I don't believe I ever told him such and improbable story. Bancroft is care free and intelligent man I don't know how he would do a foolish thing. # Who are the parties with Mr. Abrams that you are communicating with We ought to prevent any more confusion
