Title
[D8331ZAC], Letter from Sherburne Blake Eaton to Edison Electric Light Co of Europe Ltd, September 14th, 1883
Editor's Notes
Typed (9 page) "Statement re the unpaid claim of the Edison Electric Light Co in Europe Limited NY againt the Compagnie Continetale Paris on the account of the Edison Exhibit at the Paris Electrical Exposistion" Reviews terms of June 1881 contract by which Leon provided money for Edison's exhibit and obtained option to form company upon its success. [Notes that Leon put up $30,000 of the $51,000 for the exhibit, the rest coming from EELCo of Europe] Memorandum deals with question of who's ultimately responsible for balance of cost and who now has legal title to the demonstration plant (again says it's the Co). Argues that Continentale Co has improperly taken the equipement and should either pay for or return it; also that Continentale should reimburse European Co the amounts it fronted for the exhibition. TAE marginalia: "save this E"
