Title
[D8337ZBB], Letter from John William Lieb to Thomas Alva Edison, April 5th, 1883
Editor's Notes
[from Milan] Measured resistance to ground from field magnets of Milan dynamos, found low resistance due to dampness of insulation during shipping. Armatures protected by felt and japanned paper. Wooden insuting rings, etc will have to be replaced. More details about equipment; will have to get bigger boiler safety valves and this will delay operation to late May. Feeder lines here don't have galvanometer wires to measure voltage drop. Local electricians lack practical ability. Prof Columbo has raised the subject of using storage batteries at the central station. Local backers very anxious to mfg everything here.
