- Editor's Notes
- I received you telegram about teaching Conant the meter bookkeeping according to the Roselle style. I do not understand the Roselle style of meter bookkeeping I sent him him out to Roselle with a letter to Oakley and when he comes back tomorrow I shall put him through a course of catechism then take him down to he central station to find out the differeence between Roselle meter book keeping and the Pearl Street station meter bookkeeping. As to giving him instructions in all bookeeping required I must confess that is beyond the scope of my ability to give a man a liberal education in 24 hours. I know you have a great conempt for bookkeeping anywaybut I can assure it is not a simple matter. The general mode of keepng the books at Sunbury must be decided by the Company's Board. They must be left to do it themsleves as long as they interfere with part of the bookkeeeping which refers to the running of the station. You remember I asked to get up these forms for me to use with the Central Station. I cannot give Conant instructions as to what he has to do until I have got these forms. I will be post him as much possible and send him tomoorow nights train that he will be in Sunbury Sat, evening. #Rcd your telegram about feed cups and the wire screens for dynamos and spare feed for cylinder the same as the Pearl Street station came yesterday, I will try to get thses things. # Bergmann informs me that he shipped the pressure indicator and ampere indicator they should asrrive tom. # renovoe canvass has just coem in. Eaton eants to send a man to Hamilton Ohio right away. We might want want another canvasser I am looking for one. I might of found one that I am putting on the track of sixth ave and see ehat he can do. I hope you trust my judgemtn to use him if he turns out satisfactory. # I have sent to you in care of Shaw a copy of the Williamsport map, please mark it and bring it back with you.
