- Letterhead of St. Cloud hotel Canton Ohio # Canton has developed into a first class town for our purposes with riper[?] acquaintnaces. There are several soid business blocks that show up beautifullt after dark.# I have formed several street dwith good dwellings continiously and not eventually far apart. # Have finally concluded to leave all manufacturer our of canvass. They must either have isolated plants or he supplied by a separate station. I am making good progress am including a territory that could use a 3000 light plant. # Mr. Stuart gave me the following towns to canvass: Chillicothe, Jamesville, Lancaster, Circleville and Sandusly # Alll of the towns our agent will visit this winter. Sandusky and Jamesville won't be included they can be canvassed later. # It will take me to the 12 of Dec. to canvass the above 5 towns Please adivse me on this point # If you have any to comment on in regard to the New Orleans canvass, Please do so as soon aspossible. I woild like a leter of introduction of name of asn intersted party in New Orleans. The 25light plant is up, and the Engine has been tested everything is ready to start Saturday night # I do think we will get a company there this winter. Brush Swan and Thompson and Hauston agents have been here for ten days and had really made a beginning when Story and I appeared on the scene and dispelled all illusion of 50% on an Arc plant or storage battery plant. # If the installation co has not done much buisness in Ohio it has deciedly checked buisiness of other comapanies. # There has been no Arc light instation on Ohio since the there are in Springfield and I learn from good authority that the Springfield people refuse to enlarge their plant as the Thompson and Hunton people anticipated. WE have have actually book up athere are people in Albama and Circleville whrer they had companies already formed. # I find the intelligent and Unbaised people everywhere waiting for the Edison System. I f Edsion sees any bad defect in my work would do me a kindeness by communicating it to me and I will remedy it as soon as possible/ Marginalia I will be there Friday
