- I left Chillicothe on Saturaday. Went to Cincinatti through with out a change of cars distance 925 miles by shortest # I was fortunate enough to fet a get cut rate ticket for $20 regular fare must be in neighbor hood of $30. No letters yet at P.O. I made throught a survey last night Canal and St. Charles are good lighting streets The bars resturanmt and gambling rroms are on St. Charles. # The stores have slit an uusaully lage number of jets but at the same time are not brilliantly lighted. # the gas is very poor. # The light plant hrtr is a very large one It is lighting all the Larger bars and halls on St. Charles street # New Orleans cant compare with Canvass ciry in point of profitable lighting
