Title
[D8370O], Letter from Richard Nott Dyer to Samuel Insull, January 24th, 1883
Editor's Notes
Have Handford's letter to EHJ (D8370A). Think his reasoning about patent NO. 5 is "illogical" since Edison's 'filament' is the only way anyone's produced a practical high resistance carbon conductor. "The points in the new cases lately sent Handford are not fine at all, with the exception perhaps of the twisted filament. Although he says he has prepared 2000 specs (which by the way I consider a myth), he knows very little of the subject of electricity, and probably doesn't understand the cases."
