Title
[D8416AAN], Letter from Edison Machine Works, Alfred Ord Tate to Gustav Soldan, January 4th, 1884
Editor's Notes
We have a letter from our chief Electrical Enginneer Mr. Andrews. He says the screws in the clamps that secure the main lines fron machine on the headboard of dynamos should be 3/8' thread. Mr. Andrews says that he has been obliged to alter these screws in all the stations with exception of Sunbury. # TAE states that the two months ago he hr yourself and your foreman had a consultation in refard to these screws, and decided in future that they have 38" thread. Have you forgotten about or why is it they have been sent out wrong? The leading wires are generally No. 000 and the bolts you are you using are too weak for safety.
