- Saw TAE the previous September with letter of introduction. TAE gave him explanatin of state of EL in US and a pass to see Pearl St. station. Encloses an "Electric Lighting Memoranda" from the 15 Jan. 1884 Gas Journal enclosed). Clients of his firm, the stock and share brokers N. Lea & Son in Birmingham, England, interested in forming a light company in Birmingham. The memoranda is about the closing of the Holborn Viaduct station by the United Swan & Edison Co. and comments that this is likely to make it more difficult to establish a station elsewhere in London.
