Pencil maker suggests using thinly powedered plumbog mixed with German clay to coat lamp filaments. TAE marg: "We have tried all kinds of mixtures forced through discs but they re not satisfactory - coating outside of filament with oil & plumbago does not increase the life of the lamp-- E"
