[D8422ZAB], Letter from Gardiner C Sims to Samuel Insull, March 4th, 1884
Editor's Notes
[consider for selection] Your telegram just rec'd and communicated to Gov. Howard at his residence. He is sick and I will go to his house to talk it over and arrange for a meeting of our directors. "You will understand that when you build the engines, it will take a large part of our business away fro mus and I would like to have you make a contract with us, say for five years, you to build all the engines you may require for your own business." After investing in the patterns etc., I think you won't want a short period. Please wrie me your views plainly; I will in turn be fair with you.
