Editor's Notes
Writing from Lima, Peru. "Our steamer from Panama was ordered to stop at several small ports in Peru to pick up refugees . . . . this gave me four days here, but three were days of Carnival, so that no business could be done. I have managed, however to see your agents here, Messrs. Prevost & Co. #Grace & Co. of New York have just secured from the Government an exclusive privilege for all electric lights for 10 years." Discusses implications for Prevost & Co. see also D8416BQQ and D8416BQYre: Prevost and Bolivia [xref note in taeb7 with Chile]
