- Title
- [D8434ZAL], Letter from R S B Davids to Samuel Insull, September 18th, 1884
- Editor's Notes
- 6 pages concerning the development of electric lighting in Brazil. Davids recently visited New York City, and expected the timely receipt of estimates before his departure for Brazil, but never got them. Davids was forced to procure another system. Mr Edison promised me some lamps, and I saw him send the order to the factory, but I have not received them." Also mentions the strong recommendation of Edison's system by Preece (Davids's "friend and old chief"); a meeting with Thomas P. Conant; and Dr. Antonio [da Silva?] Prado [1840-1929?], "the most important man in Sao Paulo."
