- Editor's Notes
- re operation of Santiago Station, and Reply to Eaton of 26th. "I run this station because it pays me to do so, and not on account of any consideration for the Edison Electric Light Co. or its Agents.#It is publicly stated by members of the firm of Ed Kendall & Cp that they have made $100,000 in gas speculation through this light. This fact is also well known to the public who speak of the Company and its Agents in the same terms. I asked you to help me to rescue the business and save its good name by a slight sacrifice if such should prove necessary, which you decline.#I therefor chose to take all the responsibilty myself, as I shall take the profits. I do not propose to organize any company here nor help to organize one; it is better as it is. I believe, with you, that you will gian by the delay." Encloses copy of 840710 letter to TAE; asks for 6 months credit on order
