- [selectable for TAE marg re: his involvement in station operation, also continuing issue of Underwriters] Sunbury board thinks running expenses too high; proposed wage reductions for engineer and meter men. Engineer refused, will leave 1 March. New engineer has been to Shamokin for instructions. Will do same with meter man. December receipts $328 on 326 lamps. Dispute with person doing wiring for new contracts slowed things down. Received new cable but heard the Shamokin people won't use it because not approved by Fire Underwriters; is this true? Extensive TAE marg: "We do not think there is any danger in using the wires. The reason they have not approved it is because the national board only meets once a year & there is no power to authorize until they do= They use it in Tiffin also with the knowledge of the local insurance people. Am Glad you are going to change your engr & meterman. I hear very bad reports of them= Do you want one of our men to teach your meterman & stay at station for 10 or 15 days while new men take hold. It would probably be best for 10 days it would cost you $60 & railway fares."
