Editor's Notes

Re: various samples of black sand. Met a miner known to all as Thomas A. Edison, "the most forlorn looking barbarian I have seen since I left New York." Regards to Tate, Sprague, and Russell; tell Sprague I'll never forget the fun we had at the skating rink in Fall River. I am now super and sole California manager of Spring Valley Hydraulic Gold Co.
