Editor's Notes: See following extensive quotation from my letter to Bailey in January 1883. Quotation concerns Swedish requirement to manufacture patented articles there to retain patent. Bailey never replied or acknowledged. We advise him October 1883 that Olan competed with us and with you but "our patent laws cannot prevent him to copy any of your patents." Now it appears that Olan is at bottom of the trouble, having apparently notified patent office that your pats not mfgd in Sweden.
